UPDATE: 100% VOTES COUNTED – CASTRO 54% – DEBERRY-MEJIA 29% – CIBRIAN 8% – MCNEIL 4% – SMITH 1%

San Antonio, TX (05/09/09 – 9:10pm) By SA4Mayor.com.- With 82% of all votes counted, and having received at this point 54% of those votes Vs. DeBerry-Mejia at 29%, even if DeBerry was to get the remaining 18%, it would only amount to 47% making Castro’s 54% the winner.

Therefore SA4Mayor.com is prepared tonight to call the 2009 race for San Antonio Mayor over.  And declares Julian Castro next Mayor of San Antonio.

Christian Archer, Castro’s campaign manager in an exclusive SA4Mayor.com says “It’s Over” based on early results. Julian Castro, however was still cautious tonight as SA4Mayor.com also spoke to the candidate when he arrived to his headquarters.  Castro was expected to talk to his supporters at 10pm tonightbut that all changed shortly before 10pm when he took the stage and annouced his winning.
