Bring It Back: Community Access TV

patricio_accesstvCommunity Access TV is another big for San Antonio voters who like to exercise their freedom of speech rights.

SA4Mayor.com wants to know what would candidates do to bring back Community Access TV back to the hands of San Antonio’s community producers like this show put together by local community producers:

The city collects millions of dollars on cable franchise fees, yet Community Access Television has almost disappeared in the Alamo City.  San Antonio has been collecting all these fees for years, but apparently putting all the money into the general city fund at the expense of not supporting local community producers, and the only channel they have to broadcast their work in the public interest.  This while SATV, the city goverment channel, is up and running and well-equipped.

If you would like to see what most of us are missing here is the link to many of the local community producer’s shows:  http://www.youtube.co/TV4SA
